I was sworn in as the new city councilmember. The first job was to elect a Mayor. We chose Councilmember Bob Botts. We then voted Councilmember Barbara Hanna in as our Mayor Pro-tem. I was voted in as CRA chairman and Councilmember Debbie Franklin was voted in as CRA vice-chairman. We then had to choose committee assignments-2009 representatives. The incumbents have committees they have established a history with and were appointed back to those committees.

With my schedule at work, I can freely attend committee meetings. Since I didn’t have any committee history, I was appointed the back up or alternate on the following committees:

• Chamber of Commerce Alternate
• League of California Cities City Council Etal
• San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency Representative
• Mt San Jacinto College Alternate
