I thought you should know the CRA (Community Redevelopment Agency) Board and the City Council along with a long list of others, receive notification from the City Clerk on Friday by email, that the agenda packets are ready. For the 2/24/09 agendas I received notification on Friday at 3:07 PM that the agendas were ready for pick up.

This gives us 2 hours to pick up our packets prior to city hall closing. This eliminates Friday, Saturday or Sunday for questions of staff. On one occasion our city clerk, Marie brought the agenda packet to my house because I was sick and couldn't leave the house. On another occasion, Brian dropped my agenda packet off for me to review over the weekend.  Staff has done this for me and other council members due to the importance and volume of information that we need to review by Tuesday's meeting.

The agenda packets for the meeting that I requested the accounts payable and warrants be "TABLED" until I could review with Bonnie consisted of the following:

• CRA Support Documents 2 Pages
• City Council Agenda 5 Pages
• City Council Support Documents 97 Pages
  • City Council Accounts Payable and Warrants for October 08-January 09.

Four months worth of information.

• October 81 pages
• November 54 pages
• December 65 pages
• January 61 pages

Four Months Total= 261 pages to review accounts payable and warrants Total pages to review prior to Tuesday Meeting equal 367 pages.

I have made a stand for the people of Banning when I asked the city council to table the approval of accounts payable and warrant approvals until I could meet with the Finance Director of the City and have my concerns answered.
